First Friday: Downtown Greensboro's Monthly Open House
Meet the Artist. Hear the Music. Dance with the people. First Friday is a FREE monthly self-guided walking tour that includes Downtown Greensboro's eclectic shops, art galleries, studios, museums, and alternative art venues. Participating stops stay open from 6-9pm on the First Friday of every month with free arts programming to showcase local artists, musicians and various other artistic endeavors. First Friday is a great way to get to know the local. Every month you will experience something different. Bring friends and family! You'll never know what you'll see next!
Downtown Greensboro is home to many of the city's creative venues that include independent galleries, a “living art museum,” the area's leading regional theatres, the Cultural Center, and the area's largest concentration of locally owned shops offering specialty clothing, accessories, antiques and much more.
Past First Fridays have included:
Belly dancing, Caricatures, opera singing, salsa dancing, pottery demos, improv music, public picnics, handmade and upcycled vintage clothing and accessories, open air market, antiques, square dancing, improve comediy, puppet shows, live music, the world's largest diversity flag, Tai-Chi, spoken word, giant paper balloons and more.
